Martin Hogan Flyer- Green Party -2007 Seanad Election

This flyer is for Green Party NUI Seanad candidate Martin Hogan. It comes from the excellent Irish Election Literature Blog. Despite having Green Party logos on his literature Hogan was officially an Independent. He polled 683 votes and was well down the field.

He was appointed to the board of FAS in 2010. Unfortunately, Martin is not the only failed Green election candidate to be appointed to a State job. Over one third of the Green councillors who lost their seats in last year's local elections have been appointed to state bodies and other plum positions by the government. This is despite promises from John Gormley that all state jobs would be openly advertised and that the recruitment process for such jobs would be transparent (this is included in PfG II). The Green Party continue to appoint their unqualified, failed politicians to every quango possible.
